FAQs

1. Where do I register for the Race?  You can register online, or print a registration form at www.komensuncoast.org.  You can pick up an entry form at local FitNiche/Walgreen’s and Winn Dixie stores.  You can register on Race Day at the Registration tent, but the price is $30.00 (5K) and$35.00 (10K)  on the day of the event.  So register early and save! 

2.  How much is registration?  Registration costs $25.00 for the 5K Run and Family Fun Walk and $30.00 for the 10K Run online (through 1/03/12).  From January 4-14, 2012, registration is $30.00 for the 5K and $35.00 for the 5K Run and Family Fun Walk. 

3.  What does my registration include?  You will get a Race number, a timing chip if you are a competitive runner,  a Komen Race for the Cure tee shirt, and a great feeling of contributing the GIFT of a Mammogram to someone who otherwise could not afford one!

4.  How can I fundraise?  When you register online, you are offered the opportunity to create your own personal fundraising page.  You can then send the link to that page to your friends and family and ask them to donate.  If you register offline, we encourage you to collect pledges through cash or check donations. 

5.  Where do I drop my donations/pledges?  You can bring to the DONATIONS TENT on race day or send them to Komen Florida Suncoast Affiliate Office (POLK RACE), P.O. Box 2240, Lakeland, FL 33806.  Donations will be open 30 days post-race and then tallied to see who the fundraising winners are.  

6.  I am a Survivor.  What do I need to know?  When you register, you can indicate that you wish to be recognized as a survivor.  As a survivor, you will receive a special Survivor T-shirt and a Survivor Race number recognizing you as a Survivor.  You will also be invited into the Survivor VIP Tent on Race Day, where you will receive a special Survivors-only breakfast and goody bag. 

7.  What is the Survivor Ceremony?  One of the most important aspects of this Race is the Survivor Ceremony. It begins at 10:00am inside Joker Marchant Stadium(we ask all survivors to arrive at 9:30am) and features a Survivor processional to the stage, followed by a ceremony dedicated to honoring our Survivors. 

8.  How do I start or join a team?  Register online and click on the start a team, or join an existing team buttons  This will walk you through registration.

9.  When do I get my registration packet with my tee shirt and Race number?  You have two options:  You can register before 1/03/2012 online and your packet will be mailed to you; you can still register online until 1/11/12 but you will need to pick your packet up at Joker Marchant Stadium (2301 Lakeland Hills Blvd, Lakeland, FL  33805) from 3-7PM on Friday, January 13, 2012 or on Race Day (1/14/2012) starting at 6:00am.

10.  When does the Race start?  The ELITE10K Race starts at 8:00am, Beat the Elite 10K starts at 8:05am and the 5K starts at 8:45am 

11.  What time does the Kids Activities-Race the Bases start?  9:30am – line up at 9:15am

12.  How do I enter an offline gift so that it shows on my fundraising thermometer?  After you've created your personal fundraising page, click on the progress tab at the top. On the right it says "Enter a New Gift".  Click on there and enter your offline gift information.
